The way things look right now, '12 will be very similar to 08 in that policy wont matter, speeches wont matter... you can put a clown on stage to blow balloon animals, and he will get elected. Unless the Republicans put up someone utterly unlikable combined with some type of major slip of the tongue (a racial slur), ANYONE running against Obama will win. At this point, he is simply un-electable as is any Democrat for the White House.

Could I visit Canada, and feel safe and welcome there?

I'm an American from Texas. I got a friend who is a Canadian American whom I worked with at a nursing home. I don't go around acting like I'm superior to anyone. I don't look at any race to be superior nor inferior to any. We're all human. My dad tells me that he's heard stories about American tourists, and vacationers in France. He tells me the reason these awful stories are because those individuals were acting like they're better in some way. You can't do that in any foreign country, because people will do the same back to you. My question is could I visit Canada sometime, would I feel welcome provided that I treat everyone with respect, and act like a normal gentleman, and a civilized human being? My dad stopped in Canada on a cruise once, and he said Canadian people were friendly.

He was correcting your perceptions regarding international relations - not that he "know[s] more about the USA than us Americans." And don't Americans proudly proclaim to not care about the politics of other countries anyway? Unless you have to invade to, as they say, "keep us safe?" Quick. Without looking. What's the capital of Egypt???? Better yet, what's the capital of Iraq??? Afghanistan??? Pakistan??? Can you even speak more than one language???? Oh, that's right. Everyone else has to learn English. -_-
